Whom did I decide to follow on Twitter and why
First of all I choose to follow TED Talks because these conferences are always a plue value. The people who tells us their stories has real experience and know how to use powerful and meaningful words to catch us. It's often a lead to follow and always very interesting. It's also teaching me in a way how to be successful with myself, and my business.
I followed BFMTV directly after my first log on Twitter, because it's one of the most complete information media for me. It covers news from everywhere and from France of course which allows me to keep in touch with what is happening in my home country.
Then to keep with social medias I followed at Los Angeles Times and Magazine, I put them together because the first one mostly gives me official news from LA when the second one is more focused on fun facts and activities in LA, both useful for my year abroad here.
I like The Ellen Show, this woman always impressed me and has been a model on the way of success since I discovered her. I followed her to get some of her inspiration everyday.
Finally I choose to follow Konbini, a social media focused on young people mostly I'd say by their choice of topics. This media is actually very interesting, it always gets my attention. And the bonus point is that now that I started this blog it also helps me seing how this universe is settled: because this magazine is built in a very familiar way and the articles look like blog's posts.
What are the strengths and weaknesses you can find using twitter as a social media marketing tool?
Using twitter is good for the audience because you can reach a big amount of people in some mouse clicks, just by following "right people" like leaders/influencers or using well known #hashtags. It's easy to create an active communication on twitter thanks to the way this media works. You just need to say something catchy and you can get a thousand of retweets in a couple of minutes. So it allows you to develop your brand in a good way.
But be careful about the dark side of twitter because you can quickly go into connecting with the wrong people, or saying something inappropriate that will be seen by all your followers' community. This can bring you into trouble. Also keep in mind that to seem professional you can't allow yourself to use the sms language that we often find on Twitter, due to the limited amount of letters you can use per message.

Hi Anne Marie, I made the same choice by choosing The Times. I think it is very important to be aware of the news everywhere in the world if you want to build a business. In our world a crisis in another country can influence the economy and the business in yours. You are totally right.
