Why Social Media Marketing ?

Hello everyone! 

Welcome here. I'll tell you why I took this class in social media marketing. 

 Well, we all were teenagers, some of us still are. And we were born at a time where social media appeared suddenly and got viral in a few years. We all use social medias in our personal life, and we realized that we also need them at work, because they're useful in marketing areas for example. They allow you to make the announcement for a new product to a larger range of people, and realize the promotion for an event way more easily than before. 
If you're working in these areas you'll need to know how to manage social medias. It's getting primordial at a time where people only communicate through them (almost!). 

 I hope to get out of this class how to use social medias as tools that will increase my productivity in getting things done at work, and will help me do product launches, surveys or special offers promotion for example. Once you know how to use social medias at your advantage, it's fast to create buzz around a special event. Also making an approach to a potential consumer is easier than with emails, because social medias look friendly and emails look old. 

 To apply what I will learn in this class I will find first an internship for the end of this year, in marketing or digital areas. This will give me the opportunity to try all the techniques I will see in this course, and adapt them to real world situations.

What about my utilization of social media ?

HELLO ALL ! As we almost arrived to the end of this course, here are a few things about my different accounts on social media. My blog  I finally ended up with 8 posts counting this one on my blog, with a total number of views reaching 288 and only 4 comments. To have more followers I think I should have made my blog look more attractive, I'm sure this would have get me more views. What I like the most about blogging is the personal aspect that is emanating of it and the liberty you can take by creating your website as you want. This reflects the best how you are and your personality will attract followers because they're looking for authenticity. Why it is important to market yourself? How can you build your brand online?

For our professional life it's important to know how to sell ourselves. It's the first thing people will notice about you, when you apply for a job for  example. In this globalized world we can have the same opportunities than someone living across the globe who didn't go to the same school, doesn't have the same religion or culture but who will be able to seek for the same job as you do.
